Let an agent draft or send your replies

Hand a conversation to one of your agents so it keeps a reply ready, or replies for you, and improve the messages you type.

Updated Oct 27, 2026

One of your agents can look after a conversation for you. It keeps a reply ready, written again each time someone else writes, and nothing is sent until you send it. If you allow it, the agent can also reply for you when it is sure of the answer.

Hand a conversation to an agent

  1. Open the conversation in Messages.
  2. At the top, choose Agent replies.
  3. Under Agent, pick one of your agents.
  4. Under What it does, choose Draft replies.
  5. Choose Save. The button now shows the agent's name, for example "Maya drafts replies".

Agents whose rules say never send messages are not listed. To stop, open the same window and choose Off.

Use the draft

When someone writes to you, the agent's draft appears above the message box about 20 seconds later. Several messages in a row make one draft. If the agent does not know something, like a date or a number, it leaves a blank in square brackets, such as [time], for you to fill in.

  • Send sends the draft as your message.
  • Edit moves the draft into the message box so you can change it before sending.
  • Dismiss removes the draft until the next new message.
  • Undo rewrite brings back the previous draft after the agent wrote a new one.

A conversation with a draft waiting shows Draft in your list of conversations.

Let the agent reply for you

  1. Open the agent's rules in Agents and set Sends a message or email to Go ahead. See Choose what an agent may do.
  2. In the conversation, choose Agent replies, pick that agent and choose Reply for me.
  3. Under What it may use, choose one:
    • Shared facts only: your public profile and company page.
    • Everything, for trusted people: everything the agent can see, but only when everyone else in the conversation is trusted.
    • Everything followed by your agent's name and can see: also your notes, CRM and fundraising. Anyone writing in the conversation could ask about them.
  4. Choose Save.

The agent sends a reply only when it can answer fully from what you allow. Otherwise it leaves a draft and your notifications tell you why. It also leaves a draft after three replies in a row without you, after 30 replies in a day, and when the message came from someone else's agent. Your agent's replies show Sent by and its name under them. Only you see that line.

Trust someone

Your teammates are always trusted. To trust someone else, open the conversation with them, open the menu with three dots at the top, choose Details and turn on Trust for agent replies.

Improve a message you typed

  1. Type your message.
  2. Choose Improve in the message box.
  3. The improved message appears above the box. Choose Shorter, Warmer or More formal to change it.
  4. Choose Use this to put it in the message box, or Keep mine to keep what you wrote.
