Approve people who apply to join
In your community's Applications, read each application, approve or decline it, and edit the questions people answer.
Everything about applications is in one place: Applications in your community's sidebar, also the Applications tab under Manage workspace (the gear in the sidebar). Only owners and admins see it. A number next to it shows how many people are waiting.
Turn applications on
While Who can join is Public or Invite only, people join without applying. Applications then shows your questions with a Turn on applications button. Choose it: Who can join becomes Approval required, people choose Apply to join on your community's page and answer your questions, and you decide who gets in.
To turn applications off again, choose Change next to Who can join (or Edit page in the sidebar). Under Access, change Who can join, then choose Save changes. People who join with your join link get in without applying.
Review applications
- Open Applications. Pending shows who is waiting. Approved and Declined show past decisions. Each request's notification has a Review request button that opens the same list.
- Read each application: the message, the answers, and the startup they applied with, if any (View startup profile opens it). Choose the person's name to see their profile.
- Choose Approve or Decline, then confirm. Approved people join right away.
On a computer you can tick several applications and approve or decline them together.
Next to the list, Application form shows your questions, and Apply link gives you the link to your community's page, with Copy and Show QR code.
Change the questions
- In Applications, choose Edit form.
- Choose Add question and pick its type: Short text, Long text, Single select, Multi select or Checkbox. Turn on Required for questions everyone must answer. Generate with AI writes a set for you.
- Choose Save application form, then Back to applications.
