Track your KPIs and add a metric
Enter your monthly numbers, watch runway and MRR, import a spreadsheet, and add your own metrics.
KPIs keep your startup's monthly numbers. Open KPIs from the sidebar, under Your startup, and stay on the Numbers tab.
Enter this month's numbers
- In Monthly entries, click the cell for a metric and a month. The last six months are shown.
- Type the value.
- Press Enter or Tab. The value saves as you leave the cell.
On a phone, choose Enter numbers, pick the Month and fill in the values.
Runway is worked out from Cash on hand and Monthly burn. MRR, cash, burn and runway also go into your investor updates. A startup made in a course gets investor updates once it goes public.
Import a spreadsheet
- Choose Import CSV in Monthly entries.
- Pick a .csv or .xlsx file. The first column holds the metric names; each other column is a month, like Jan 25 or 2025-01.
- Check the preview, then choose the import button, which says how many values it saves.
Add a metric
- Choose Add metric in the top bar.
- Fill in Key (snake_case), like active_paid_users, and Label, like Active paid users.
- Pick the Unit and the Direction (Up is good or Down is good).
- Choose Add metric.
Your own metrics show under Custom.
Numbers from the CRM or Stripe
Some metrics, like MRR and customers, can come from your CRM or from Stripe. Next to the metric, pick Typed, From CRM or From Stripe to choose where your public number comes from. A number that comes from the CRM or Stripe is changed there, not in the grid.
